This blog is designed to accompany the Women’s Leadership Institute at Southern Polytechnic State University, which will begin in spring semester (January) 2012.  The topics will be related to leadership, particularly in higher education.  Sometimes, the comments will reflect on activities and issues we are addressing on campus.  Some will focus on current readings and their usefulness (or lack thereof).  Others will identify lessons from geology that provide insights into leadership questions.  All comments — from both WLI participants and others — are welcome.

I just wanted to share something that relates to our first session on personality types. This is for all my fellow Introverts. There is a new book out called “Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking”. I’ve heard a couple of interviews with the author and I was struck by the timing of this book for me personally and for our group. I think I would react a little differently if I hadn’t just taken and discussed the Meyers-Briggs assessment. I’ve put the book on my Amazon Wish list and wanted the rest of you to know about it.
